Conservation Commission Warrant Article-
The Conservation Commission came before the Board to review a potential warrant article they would like placed on the warrant.

“To see if the Town will vote to place a conservation easement on town owned land Map 1 Lot 33 and Map 1 Lot 27-1 (Spaulding Town Forest) on Hutchinson Road, such easement to be held by a qualified conservation organization.”

These two parcels contain roughly 122 acres of land. All of the current recreational things that are allowable uses will continue to be such with this easement. This easement would be held by a qualified conservation easement holder as the Town cannot hold an easement on its own property. This would be for the preservation of the land.

Consensus of the Board was to place this on the Town Warrant to be voted on. The Board will formally vote on a recommendation at the Public Hearing January 31, 2017.
